event notice Wednesday February 05, 2014 23:46 by shannon-watch Solidarity Protest The next peace vigil at Shannon Airport will take place on Sunday February 9th from 2pm to 3pm. The airport continues to be used as a U.S. military base, with the full support of the Irish government but not the Irish people. This month we are asking for a large turnout as a mark of solidarity with imprisoned peace activist Margaretta D'Arcy. Margaretta normally attends the monthly peace vigils at Shannon but she has been imprisoned by the State because she opposes the U.S. military use of the airport.
